When I was about 9 years old, I did not realize the lifelong effect hearing my cousin Roger play Proud Mary would have on me. Unaware of it at the time, he had planted the seed and the dream began. In high school, I moved to west Texas with my family. It was there that I saw a band called Madhouse.
I was hooked and followed them all over Texas. It was after I moved away from west Texas that I began taking keyboard lessons. However, I called Clark Findley, formerly in the group Madhouse, and my dream continued coming together.
This is my first attempt at doing this, but I did the best I could with the talent that I have. This is also why the CD is titled Rough.. Now here’s what 300 days, 10 months, and 118 hours in a small enclosed room sounds like... the result: just crank it up, because this is one kick-ass album.

Award winning songwriter Eric Folkerth (yes it's his real name) finds metaphors in all sorts of life experiences: from Dinosaurs and Donut Shops, to the birth of his first child. Audiences and critics alike say Eric is a spellbinding storyteller.
Eric's first CD, Songs for the Time Being was recorded at Phattman Studios in Dallas, and was coproduced by the studio's owner, Clark Findley.
Eric is again working with Clark on his second CD, entitled, "Return." It features guest appearances from Billy Jonas and Rachel Bissex, as well as a host of other talented Dallas-area musicians. Expected release date in 2005

Athas grew up playing neighborhood gigs with childhood pal Stevie Ray Vaughan, and shortly thereafter flip-flopped headliner chores in a series of shows with another friend, Eric Johnson. No Less than Billy Gibbons, Pantera’s “Dime-Bag” Darrell Abbott, and the New Bohemians’ Kenny Withrow are long-time admirers of the Oak Cliff guitarist.
Rocky wasn’t only recognized by Texas musicians, the English rock band “Thin Lizzy” wrote the song ‘Cocky Rocky” after hearing Rocky play one night at “Mother Blues”, a local Dallas club.
Queen guitarist Brian May was also on hand for those performances and was so floored by Rocky's finger tapping style that he incorporated it on the next Queen album. May later revealed that it was the guitarist from Mother Blues who first introduced him to this style, well before Eddie Van Halen became known for this.

SPLINTER has NOT been a power house band in Dallas or in Deep Ellum, playing only a handful of shows in this area.
SPLINTER has made a small name for itself in Ft.Worth area. With some vocal changes being made the last few months, to shows outside the State, and shows throughout the Lone Star state, which includes Austin, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Waco, Longview, Tyler, Kilgore, & Harker Heights.
SPLINTER has come out of the shadows and are opening some eyes and ears, that were once closed.

Although it was rumored that the band's name contained some sort of veiled reference to a Dutch Zoo, there has, as yet, been no further clarification from the band. However, to quote lead bassist, Dave Murphy, regarding other possible meanings of their nebulous moniker :
"The term 'movable yonder' has connotations of controlled destiny... Thinking in 4-D, the future can be changeable. It could also mean something like a journey to a physical or metaphysical place that doesn't really exist until you get there (if you can get there), and that it may be something different when you do, or may still be just as far away once you think you are close to getting there...
" All of which only stands to reason, coming from a band whose music is obviously more about the journey rather than the destination.

Poppa Dolla is most known for his true to life story lines and his dramatics compositions. In addition to composing and writing Poppa Dolla still contends that he is a student absorbing knowledge from fellow Dallas acts such DSR, Eryka Badu, and Quinton Black to name a few. Poppa Dolla is most often paired with his writing companion Clark Findley of Phattman Communications.
Poppas eclectic formula for creating hot music is generated from his ability to dig deep into himself and apply it to his compositions. Poppa has always created music as a passion never slowing down always on the cutting edge of the next major thing. Poppa has chosen not to shop his demo in the past but now feel a since of urgency and has a goal to be the greatest rapper-singer-producer alive. He has continued in the studio completing his dual cd still untitled. With over 50 songs to choose from.
